who we are
Humbition ‘Humble Ambition’ means a great deal to us. With our immigrant up-bringing, we were taught to ‘Think Three Times – Act After’ reminding us to always be thoughtful, always put in the extra effort (grit), and be above all (high integrity). Our Western education taught us to make a difference, take risk, innovate, and leave behind something better than you found it. Humbition merged those ideals together which fit perfectly with our own personal beliefs and principles.
After two decades of corporate and consulting tenure under the black box environment in various strategic and leadership roles, we felt our impacts fall short as the mutual value systems weren’t aligned especially near-term. So we decided to pursue our entrepreneurial aspiration by creating a new crystal box with Humbition Consulting to serve leaders with similar values that support our great community and humanity.
Humbition Consulting is a convergence of aspiration, pursuit for happiness, and newness. We hope you will join our journey!

Vanessa Sun
Principal
Vanessa is a seasoned business leader with extensive financial and business management experience from manufacturing, retail and high-tech industries Aerojet, Paccar, Oldcastle, Amazon, Microsoft, and Blue Origin.
What motivates Vanessa is driving financial transparency on major innovation programs, establishing solid governance for predictable business management, and driving enterprise value by streamlining operational processes.
Vanessa is a caring, thoughtful, and collaborative leader. You will find her to be your trusted partner and a friend as she is relentless in setting you up for success.
Education:
Seattle University – Business (Accounting and Finance) and a Masters in Professional Accounting. She is also an active CPA.
Steven Sun
Principal
Steven is well-known in the Pacific Northwest consulting and technology world - served as a Partner at a local digital consulting firm managing its biggest account and had worked at several iconic companies Starbucks, Microsoft and Vulcan.
You will find Steven to be sensible, ethical and innovative with a great sense of humor. His approach is always on the long view, high attention to detail and driving impactful results while building meaningful relationships.
Education:
Business - Management Information Systems from University of Washington, MBA from Seattle University.
Jason Swearingen
Solution Architect
Jason has spent his professional career focusing on technical leadership. He is an architect, designer, and developer of: real-time simulation, parallel computing, scientific modeling, and process automation. When creating turnkey solutions, Jason’s greatest focus is on meeting stakeholder requirements and solution longevity.
Jason has launched a successful SaaS company, been CTO of a game studio, and was a developer at Microsoft. He has a no nonsense, work-hard entrepreneurial outlook.
